Stefan Nikolić

Stefan Nikolić is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Informatics, Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad. He earned a BSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Novi Sad (2017) and a PhD in Computer and Communication Sciences from EPFL, Switzerland (2023). His research focuses on reconfigurable computing, electronic design automation (EDA), and FPGA architecture, with emphasis on CAD algorithms for efficient mapping of circuits onto FPGAs. He has held research internships at Xilinx (now AMD), EPFL, and Frobas d.o.o., Serbia.

Research Interests: His work spans FPGA interconnect design, automated architecture exploration, routing algorithms, and silicon-efficient FPGA solutions. He addresses challenges in programmable interconnect performance, CAD tool optimization, and adapting to technology scaling constraints. Key contributions include novel routing techniques, switch-block exploration methods, and analyses of commercial FPGA architectures.
