Stefan MAAS

Stefan MAAS is a Full Professor at the University of Luxembourg's Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM), leading the Applied Mechanics and Energy Efficiency research group within the Department of Engineering. His expertise spans statics, dynamics, finite element methods, material strength, control drive systems, and renewable energy applications.

Education: Earned a doctoral degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Kaiserslautern in 1991.

Research: Specializes in energy efficiency in buildings, mechatronics, and sustainable engineering solutions. Serves as former Study Programme Director for the Master en Sciences de l’ingénieur – Efficacité énergétique et économique and Master en Développement durable – Énergie et Environnement programs.

Experience: Combines academic leadership with industrial sector experience from roles as researcher, project engineer, and department head at various companies. Has been actively teaching and conducting applied research at the University of Luxembourg since 1999.
