Stefan Krauter, Professor of New Testament at the Faculty of Theology, University of Zurich, specializes in New Testament studies with a focus on Greco-Roman cultural contexts and historical interpretation. He co-directs the SNSF project on 16th-century Pauline exegesis and has held pastoral and academic roles for over 15 years.
- Education: Doctorate (2003, Tübingen) on civil rights in ancient societies; Habilitation (2009, Munich) on Romans 13 in Neronian discourse.
- Research: Examines Pauline epistles, their Greco-Roman literary parallels, and Reformation-era interpretations. Projects include analyzing assemblies in biblical and ancient contexts (Qahal and Ekklesia) and Roman Corinth's theological implications.
