Prof. Stefan Hempel is a violinist and professor at the Rostock University of Music and Theatre since 2010. He leads the Morgenstern Trio, a premier piano trio recognized with the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Award, and performs globally. Formerly first violinist of the Chagall Quartet, he has won major competitions including the Max Rostal and Michael Hill awards. His training includes studies under Stephan Picard and Eberhard Feltz at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin. He also served as a temporary professor at Stuttgart University of Music and teaches internationally, leading masterclasses in France, Italy, the USA, Japan, and China.
