Stefan Gordon is an Assistant Professor of Voice at the Lionel Hampton School of Music, University of Idaho, within the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences. He teaches studio voice instruction, opera, and musical theatre courses, contributing to both undergraduate and graduate programs in music.
His educational background includes a D.M.A. from Arizona State University, an M.M. from Florida State University, and a B.A. from the University of Utah.
Gordon is an internationally active performer and stage director, with extensive experience in opera across Europe, Asia, and the United States. His research and performance interests center on vocal performance, operatic repertoire, and stage production. He has performed leading roles in American premieres and toured internationally in major productions, earning recognition for his rich and flexible voice.
He previously founded the Northwestern Opera Theater Ensemble at NSULA during his tenure as Assistant Professor of Music, demonstrating leadership in academic opera training.
Gordon has directed notable productions such as Le Nozze di Figaro, Die Zauberflöte, La Traviata, and Gianni Schicchi, contributing significantly to performance-based music education.
