Stefan Flasche

Stefan Flasche is an Einstein-BUA Strategic Professor of Infectious Disease Dynamics and Global Health at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin and holds a part-time professorship in Vaccine Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). His research focuses on optimizing global immunization strategies, with a particular emphasis on pneumococcal diseases, outbreak response (e.g., SARS-CoV-2, Ebola, swine flu), antimicrobial resistance, vector-borne diseases (dengue and malaria), RSV, and health in humanitarian crises. He is a member of the Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO) at the Robert Koch Institute.

Flasche's work combines epidemiological modeling, public health policy, and clinical research. His recent studies explore vaccine efficacy, pandemic exit strategies, and the impact of interventions like rapid antigen testing.
