Stefan Fehlandt

Stefan Fehlandt serves as Professor of Chamber Music and Viola at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts since 2007 and currently holds the position of Vice Rector for Artistic Development and Early Childhood Education, having been re-elected to this role in January 2024.

His musical training was completed at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin.

Professor Fehlandt's artistic career is defined by chamber music performance and festival leadership, particularly as a founding member of the Vogler Quartet since 1985. His work encompasses organizing major international festivals including the Berlin Konzerthaus series, the Chamber Music Festival in Sligo (Ireland), and the award-winning North Hessian Children's Music Festival. His current vice-rectorship highlights a strong commitment to early childhood music education and artistic development initiatives.

As a performer, he maintains an active presence at premier festivals such as Salzburg, Dresden, and Schleswig-Holstein, collaborating with renowned artists including Boris Pergamenschikow, Isabelle Faust, and Christian Tetzlaff, while also participating in projects with ensembles like the Akademie für Alte Musik.

He regularly conducts masterclasses globally at institutions including Jeunesse Musicales, state music academies, and the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg/Hohenems, and serves as a juror for major competitions and foundations.
