Stefan Constantinescu

Stefan Constantinescu is a Full Professor of Cancer Signalling at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research in Oxford (part-time) and Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain), Belgium. He serves as a Senior Group Leader at the Nuffield Department of Medicine, Oxford, and Co-Director of the Ludwig Cancer Research Brussels Laboratories (2024). His work focuses on the interplay between cytokine receptor signaling, epigenetic regulators, and chromatin dynamics in blood cancers.

• Research Focus: Myeloid blood cancers, signal transduction, epigenetic regulation, and chromatin remodeling.
• Affiliations: Christian de Duve Institute of Cellular Pathology (since 2003), FNRS tenured investigator (since 2003), and member of the Doctoral School of Genetics and Immunology at UCLouvain.

Research Interests include understanding how mutations in cytokine receptors and epigenetic regulators drive myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) and leukemia. His lab investigates the molecular mechanisms of oncogenic signaling, chromatin state transitions, and disease progression from chronic MPNs to secondary acute myeloid leukemia.

Publication Trends highlight his focus on Thrombopoietin Receptor Mutants, CALR Mutations, and Rogue Cytokines in MPNs. Recent studies explore post-translational modifications, dimerization, and chromatin packaging in oncogenesis.
