Stavros VAKEROUDIS

Stavros VAKEROUDIS is an Assistant Professor of Applied Probability, Stochastic Processes, and Actuarial Mathematics at the Department of Statistics of Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). He has held academic roles at multiple institutions, including the University of the Aegean, University of Cyprus, and Université Libre de Bruxelles. His research focuses on stochastic processes, Lévy processes, windings, and applications in finance and biology. He has organized conferences, served on committees, and delivered talks globally.

Education:

• PhD (2011): Paris VI University, advised by David Holcman and Marc Yor.
• MSc (2006): Paris VI University in Probability and Applications.
• BSc (2004): National Technical University of Athens in Applied Mathematics.

Research Interests: Stochastic Processes, Lévy Processes, Windings, Bougerol’s Identity, Actuarial Sciences, Fluctuation Theory, and applications in Biology and Finance. His work bridges theoretical probability with practical domains like polymer rotation and financial modeling.

Key Contributions: Over a dozen peer-reviewed articles on windings of stochastic processes, exponential functionals, and applications. Recent works include factorization of arc-sine laws and stable windings analysis.

Awards: Kovalevskaya grant (2022), DRASI I grant (2023), HFSP grant (2006), and multiple academic excellence scholarships.

Teaching & Mentorship: Teaches Probability, Stochastic Calculus, and Actuarial Mathematics at AUEB and the University of the Aegean. Organizes summer schools and conferences on Lévy processes and actuarial science.
