Stavros Gadinis is the George R. Johnson Professor of Law and Faculty Director of the Berkeley Center for Law and Business at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. His research focuses on corporate law, financial regulation, and the interplay between companies and regulators. He holds a S.J.D. from Harvard Law School (2010), an LL.M. from the University of Cambridge (UK), and a law degree from Aristotle University, Greece.
Areas of expertise include business law, international and comparative law, and law and economics. Recent work explores corporate governance frameworks addressing social risks, stakeholder capitalism during crises, compliance systems' impact on board liability, and global financial standardization dynamics.
Before academia, Gadinis practiced corporate law in Europe. His scholarship bridges legal theory with practical regulatory challenges, emphasizing systemic risk management and proactive compliance mechanisms.
