Dr. Stasia Tapley is an Associate Professor and Director of Clinical Education in the Department of Applied Medicine & Rehabilitation at Indiana State University's College of Health and Human Services. She holds a D.P.T. from The College of Saint Scholastica (2014), a B.S. in Physical Therapy from the University of South Alabama (1991), and a B.A. in Psychology & Math from Vanderbilt University (1984). With over 30 years of clinical experience, her work spans acute care, outpatient orthopedics, and pediatric physical therapy.
Her research focuses on interprofessional collaboration, service-learning in healthcare education, and improving access to physical therapy services for underserved populations. Notable projects include pain education initiatives with PA students and Special Olympics FUNfitness programs. She has contributed to peer-reviewed journals such as International Journal of Therapy and Rehabilitation and Journal of Community Engagement and Higher Education.
Dr. Tapley leads community engagement efforts through roles like Clinical Director for Special Olympics Indiana's FUNfitness program and board membership with Reach Services. She has secured grants totaling over $40,000 for service-learning initiatives and clinical training enhancements. Her administrative responsibilities include program accreditation oversight and curriculum development.
