Dr. Stacy Creel is an Associate Professor at the University of Southern Mississippi's School of Library & Information Science (SLIS). She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in school libraries, youth services, reference, and public/academic libraries, emphasizing online education. Her research focuses on online LIS student preparedness, youth information behavior, censorship, and reading habits. She has received teaching awards, including the Exemplary Online Course Award (2013) and the College of Education and Psychology's Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award (2014).

Her research agenda combines online education and youth services, analyzing LIS student readiness and community-building in virtual classrooms. Her publications span peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and conference proceedings, with international presentations on qualitative/quantitative methods in libraries.

Dr. Creel mentors students actively, with six mentored publications in journals like Art Documentation and Public Libraries. She advises the Graduate Certificate in Youth Literature and Services, oversees the development of four SLIS courses, and contributes to curriculum design and open-access scholarship as co-editor of SLIS Connecting.
