Beverly (Buffy) Edwards is a Senior Lecturer and Internship Support Specialist at the University of Oklahoma's School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS). With over 30 years of experience in school librarianship, she earned her Master of Library and Information Studies (1989) and Ph.D. in Instructional Psychology and Technology (2008) from OU. She led the inaugural SLIS study abroad program OU in Italy: Libraries, Archives, and Museums (2023) and is planning the 2024 iteration.

Her research focuses on motivation and reading, equitable access to library resources, the impact of professional librarians on student learning, and school library quality. She actively serves on the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) School Library Research Editorial Board and presents at international conferences.
Buffy teaches courses such as LIS 5023 (Management in Information Organizations) and LIS 5283 (School Library Administration), emphasizing community relations, cataloging, and advocacy. Her office is located in Bizzell Library 120, Norman, OK.
