Stacy Branham is an Associate Professor in the Department of Informatics at the University of California, Irvine. She leads the INclusive Studio for Innovative Technology and Education (INsite) and co-founded UCI's Accessibility Research Collective (ARC). Her research focuses on accessible computing, emphasizing how technology design for people with disabilities benefits all users. She advocates for interdependence in technology, shifting from independence-focused models to collaborative solutions.
Her work spans accessible navigation systems (e.g., airport travel for visually impaired users), assistive technologies for blind parents reading with children, and inclusive design practices in software engineering. She actively collaborates with industries like Toyota and Google, contributing to real-world solutions such as accessible profile images on Chromebooks.
Branham has received prestigious awards, including the NSF CAREER Award and Popular Science’s 'Brilliant 10' recognition. She is a Co-PI of AccessComputing, a national initiative to broaden computing participation for people with disabilities.
