Staci Toma serves as Assistant Adjunct Professor of Percussion at the University of Northern Iowa's School of Music. An advocate for global musical traditions, she expands the percussion repertoire through multicultural education and performance, offering world music courses, applied percussion lessons, and percussion pedagogy to future music directors.

- Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance, Colorado State University (minor in French)
Professor Toma's research and performance focus on global percussion traditions, including West African drumming (studied in Ghana and Guinea), marimba (in Austria and Australia), and orchestral percussion. She integrates diverse rhythms into American music education, emphasizing cultural connections to prepare students as versatile musicians and global citizens.

- First Place in two concerto competitions for marimba performance
As an educator, Toma mentors students in percussion performance and pedagogy with a teaching philosophy centered on multicultural understanding. She presented her workshop on West African rhythms at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) in 2021. An active performer, she has collaborated with professional orchestras, concert bands, and traditional drumming ensembles across the United States, studying under renowned masters including Gordon Stout, Kevin Bobo, and the late Bernard Woma.
