Stacey Singer Leshinsky is an Associate Professor and tenured faculty member in the Physician Assistant Program at St. John’s University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She serves as Academic Coordinator for the Didactic Year 2 phase of the program and assists with clinical student guidance. Her roles include clinical preceptorship, teaching through simulation, and active involvement in medical education initiatives. Prof. Leshinsky holds a Master of Science in Postsecondary Education (2009) and graduated from the St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center Physician Assistant program (now part of St. John’s University) in 2002.
Her clinical expertise spans emergency medicine, pediatric urgent care, and inpatient cardiology/medicine within the Northwell Health system. Research focuses on simulation learning and its application in medical training. She is an American Heart Association Basic/Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor and teaches New York State Infection Control protocols. Honors include the 2020 St. John’s University Preceptor of the Year Award and the Long Island Science and Engineering Fair’s Five-Year Appreciation Award.
Prof. Leshinsky has presented at national conferences such as the New York State Society of Physician Assistants (NYSSPA) and the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA), addressing topics like cardiac arrhythmias, simulation-based learning, and ADHD management. She also engages in community service through the NYC Medical Reserve Corps as both a paramedic and physician assistant.
