Stacey L. Carrillo

Stacey L. Carrillo, Ph.D., NCC is a Teaching Associate Professor in the Human Development, Family Science and Counseling Department at the University of Nevada, Reno, within the College of Education and Human Development. She has over two decades of experience in higher education, focusing on counselor education, professional identity development, and career counseling.

Dr. Carrillo's research emphasizes professional identity development, counselor wellness and self-care, best practices in program evaluation and student assessment, and the efficacy of online and blended learning formats. Her work bridges career development and wellbeing, while exploring how social and cultural identities influence therapeutic relationships. She has also held leadership roles in higher education and contributed to human resources management through training and organizational change initiatives.
