Stacey Hust is a Professor and Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs and College Operations at The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication, Washington State University. A nationally recognized researcher, she focuses on leveraging media to address critical public health issues, including sexual assault reduction, healthy sexual relationships, substance abuse prevention, and gender representation in mass media.

Her research examines how media shapes adolescents' and college students' attitudes toward cannabis use, sexual consent, and interpersonal relationships. She leads interventions testing narrative and non-narrative health communication strategies to counter harmful media scripts and promote informed decision-making.
Recent publications analyze cannabis social media messaging, Greek life dynamics, and media literacy approaches to substance abuse prevention. Funded continuously since 2007 by institutions like the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), she bridges academic inquiry with real-world impact.
