Stacey Brockman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Wayne State University's College of Education. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Studies from the University of Michigan (2021), an M.A. in Education from Stanford University (2008), and degrees in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. Her academic work bridges K-12 and higher education, focusing on equity in postsecondary access and success.
Her research centers on identifying causal impacts of educational interventions through experimental and quasi-experimental designs. She conducts partner-engaged research with school districts and policy agencies, particularly in Detroit, to evaluate programs like the Detroit Promise Path coaching initiative and virtual mentoring systems. Her work highlights both the potential and unintended consequences of behavioral nudges and support structures for students.
The trends in her publications reflect a strong commitment to equity, using mixed-methods to explore systemic barriers in college persistence, transportation access, and teacher preparation. Her studies often combine rigorous quantitative analysis with qualitative insights into student and mentor experiences.
