Stéphane Inkel is an Associate Professor and Undergraduate Chair in the Department of French Studies at Queen's University. His research focuses on Quebec literature, 20th and 21st-century French literature, and intersections between literature and politics. He explores themes such as temporality, messianism, and cultural representation in works by authors like Réjean Ducharme and Victor-Lévy Beaulieu.
He teaches courses including FREN 342 (Modern and Contemporary French Literary History), FREN 394/FRST 294 (Intercultural Montreal), and FREN 396 (Quebec Cinema and Culture). His publications include articles on populist writing, spectral memory in Quebecois texts, and political archaeology in contemporary French works.
