Stéphane Inkel

Stéphane Inkel is an Associate Professor and Undergraduate Chair in the Department of French Studies at Queen's University. His research focuses on Quebec literature, 20th and 21st-century French literature, and intersections between literature and politics. He explores themes such as temporality, messianism, and cultural representation in works by authors like Réjean Ducharme and Victor-Lévy Beaulieu.

He teaches courses including FREN 342 (Modern and Contemporary French Literary History), FREN 394/FRST 294 (Intercultural Montreal), and FREN 396 (Quebec Cinema and Culture). His publications include articles on populist writing, spectral memory in Quebecois texts, and political archaeology in contemporary French works.

Inkel has directed special issues of Cahiers Victor-Lévy Beaulieu and contributed to the Atlas littéraire du Québec. His work bridges literary analysis with cultural and historical contexts, emphasizing Quebec's unique cultural identity.
