معرفی
Srinjan Basu is a Lecturer in Cell and Developmental Biology at the Department of Life Sciences, Imperial College London. His research focuses on single-molecule and single-cell approaches to study cellular differentiation during mammalian embryo development and related dysregulation in diseases like cancer and epilepsy. He is affiliated with the Faculty of Natural Sciences and maintains a lab at the South Kensington Campus.
- Education:
- BA/MSci in Natural Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) at University of Cambridge (2002–2006)
- PhD in Molecular, Cellular and Chemical Biology from Harvard University (2006–2012)
- Research Interests:
- Technology Development: Single-molecule imaging of nuclear proteins and chromatin dynamics
- Basic Biology: Pluripotent stem cell differentiation and embryo development
- Disease Insights: Linking chromatin folding and genome 3D structure to developmental disorders
- Professional Journey:
- Postdoctoral work at Harvard developing single-cell Hi-C and live-cell imaging techniques
- Lab establishment at University of Cambridge before relocating to Imperial College London
His lab integrates advanced imaging and sequencing technologies to explore how molecular interactions govern cell fate decisions and their failure in disease contexts.
