Dr. Spruce Schoenemann is a Professor of Environmental Sciences at the University of Montana Western, specializing in climate science, geochemistry, and paleoclimatology. He holds a B.A. in Geology and Environmental Studies from Whitman College (1999-2003) and a Ph.D. in Earth and Space Sciences from the University of Washington (2009-2015), with a graduate certificate in Climate Science (2011-2014). His research focuses on reconstructing past climates using environmental archives like ice cores, lake sediments, and tree rings to contextualize modern climate change. He is an Affiliate Scientist at Earth and Space Research (Seattle) and actively engages in climate advocacy through organizations like the Academics for Climate Advocacy Working Group.
