Soyica Diggs Colbert, Ph.D., is the Interim Provost and Idol Family Professor at Georgetown University. She previously served as Vice President for Interdisciplinary Initiatives in the Office of the Provost and Interim Dean of Georgetown’s College of Arts and Sciences. Her academic work bridges Black Studies and Performing Arts, focusing on 20th and 21st century black theater, literature, performance, and culture.
Colbert’s research explores the intersection of art and politics, particularly how theater functions as a rehearsal space for political and intellectual work. She has contributed extensively to peer-reviewed journals and popular publications like The New York Times, Washington Post, and Public Books.
