Soussan Djamasbi is a Professor at The Business School, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). Her research focuses on user experience, decision-making, and NeuroIS, leveraging eye-tracking technology to study human cognition and its applications in healthcare, robotics, and digital systems. She holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Christian-Albrechts-Universität (Germany, 1988), an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of New Mexico (1991), and a Ph.D. in Computer Information Systems from the University of Hawaii (2004).

Dr. Djamasbi’s work bridges technology and human well-being, such as developing smart clinical decision support systems using eye movement biomarkers for chronic pain and anxiety. She co-led an NSF-funded $3M project on human-robot workplace interaction (2019). Her research also includes patent-pending innovations like fixation identification algorithms and personalized food recommendation systems.
Teaching & Advising: Engages with graduate and undergraduate students, advising PhD projects while refining pedagogical strategies to align with digital economy demands. Her lab (UXDM Lab) explores innovative UX solutions for emerging technologies.
