Sosseh Assaturian is an Assistant Professor in the Philosophy Department at the University of Washington, Seattle. Her research focuses on Ancient Greek and Roman philosophy, particularly Stoic theories of language, metaphysics, and logic, with attention to the concept of lekta. She also explores feminist and comparative approaches to ancient philosophy, as well as intersections between ancient semantics and contemporary philosophy of language.

Research Interests: Sosseh investigates Stoic philosophy’s contributions to language theory and metaphysics, including reference and assertion. She examines the Eleatics, Plato, and Presocratics for insights into metaphysics and science. Her work integrates feminist methodologies to challenge canonical exclusions of ancient women intellectuals. She also engages with 20th-century analytic philosophy and contemporary debates in philosophy of language and metaphysics.

Current Projects: She is completing a monograph reconstructing Stoic lekta’s metaphysical structure and logic, and exploring feminist reinterpretations of ancient philosophical canons.
