Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Researchمعرفی
Soroor Rahmanian is a Research Fellow at the Faculty of Physics and Earth System Sciences, Leipzig University, and a member of the Remote Sensing in Geo- and Ecosystem Research group at the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv). Her work bridges biodiversity conservation, remote sensing, and ecosystem functioning, focusing on the impacts of drought stress and grazing on vegetation dynamics.
- PhD in Plant Ecology (2020), Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran
- MSc in Plant Taxonomy (2012), Isfahan University, Iran
- BSc in Plant Biology (2008), Bahonar University, Iran
Her research explores:
- Trade-offs between above- and below-ground biomass under drought
- Role of mycorrhizal fungi in vegetation resilience
- Context-dependent plant-plant interactions in arid and semi-arid regions
- Machine learning applications for habitat suitability mapping
- Functional trait responses to grazing and climate gradients
Her publications highlight collaborations with researchers like Hamid Ejtehadi, Petr Pyšek, and Martin Hejda, spanning journals such as Remote Sensing, Ecology and Evolution, and Environmental Monitoring and Assessment. She specializes in integrating geospatial data with ecological fieldwork to model biodiversity patterns and inform sustainable land management.
