Sorin Hermon is Associate Professor in Digital Cultural Heritage at the Science & Technology in Archaeology and Culture Research Center (STARC) of The Cyprus Institute. He leads the Digital Cultural Heritage research group and directs STARLAB, a mobile laboratory for Heritage Science equipped with non-invasive analytical tools, 3D documentation systems, and remote sensing technologies.

- BA in Bible and Ancient Near Eastern Studies (Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, 1991–1993)
- MA in Prehistory (Hebrew University, Jerusalem, 2006)
- PhD in Archaeology (Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, 2002)
His research focuses on integrating non-invasive chemical-physical analyses, technical imaging, and 3D visualization to address art history questions and develop STARLAB’s instrumentation capabilities. He actively participates in EU-funded initiatives like E-RIHS, GRAVITATE, and ARIADNE, and has secured competitive grants from programs such as EMAP and E-RIHS PP.
Hermon is a member of the Steering Committee of E-RIHS PP and part of professional organizations including CAA, EAA, and VSMM. He supervises three PhD students and teaches in the Science and Technology in Archaeology doctoral program at The Cyprus Institute.
