Sorin Daniliuc

Sorin Daniliuc is a Lecturer in the Research School of Accounting at the Australian National University (ANU). He holds a PhD in Commerce and a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education from ANU, alongside a Bachelor of Economics from the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi (Romania). His research focuses on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, and capital markets research.

Dr. Daniliuc teaches both introductory and advanced financial accounting courses to undergraduate and postgraduate students. He is a member of CPA Australia and the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ)’s accounting education special interest group. His work examines factors influencing the success of corporate mergers and acquisitions, including director workload and state intervention effects.

Recent projects include a study on overpayment determinants in M&A deals (2022–2023). His publications span topics like financial advisor utility in Chinese acquisitions and director busy-ness impacts on firm performance.

He is registered to supervise research students and contributes to educational innovations through collaborative projects on accounting pedagogy.
