Sophie Nicholls is a Lecturer in Early Modern History at Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford. Her research specializes in political thought and intellectual history of Early Modern Europe and Britain, particularly the French Wars of Religion (1562–1629). She emphasizes the dynamic, evolving nature of political ideas during civil conflicts and explores themes such as the concept of truth, virtue, and the interplay between classical and Christian thought in the late Renaissance.
