Sophia Wickel

Sophia Wickel is a researcher at ZEW - Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research, affiliated with the Research Unit Corporate Taxation and Public Finance. Since 2020, she has been part of the Taxation Track at the Center for Doctoral Studies in Business (CDSB) within the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences (GESS) at the University of Mannheim. Her work emphasizes empirical research in international corporate taxation and tax transparency.

• Education: Business Administration (major in Business Taxation and Tax Law) at the University of Mannheim and Stockholm University.

Research Focus: Sophia’s research bridges corporate taxation, public finance, and tax law, with particular attention to international tax frameworks and transparency mechanisms. She contributes to the Collaborative Research Centre TRR 266 Accounting for Transparency, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), since September 2021.
