معرفی
Sophia Villmow serves as a Researcher at the Chair of Mineralogy within GeoZentrum Nordbayern at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg. Her work is centered in Room NG 2.007 at Schlossgarten 5a, Erlangen, where she conducts advanced materials research focused on sustainable construction technologies.
Her research interests span Cement Chemistry and Carbon Dioxide Reduction Technologies, with specific expertise in carbonation hardening processes, hydration dynamics of clinker phases, and thermodynamic modeling of cementitious systems. She employs qualitative and quantitative X-ray diffraction analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, and carbonation reaction optimization methodologies to develop low-lime clinker solutions for CO2 reduction.
Current projects include Carbon dioxide reduction through low-lime clinker and carbonation hardening and investigation of belitic cement systems using alternative limestone substitutes. Her 2023 publication in Cement and Concrete Research demonstrates significant contributions to understanding C3A carbonation mechanisms.
Villmow operates within the GeoZentrum Nordbayern research ecosystem, collaborating with faculty including Prof. Dr. Götz-Neunhoeffer and Prof. Dr. Neubauer. Her laboratory work integrates multiple analytical techniques to advance sustainable cement technologies while addressing critical climate challenges in construction materials science.
