Sophia Adams is an Associate Lecturer and CHASE-funded PhD candidate at the Courtauld Institute of Art researching fifteenth-century English manuscript rolls featuring 'measurement relics'. Her work examines pre-modern conceptualizations of measurement as conveyors of essence, analyzing connections to pilgrimage practices, medical rituals, and votive traditions.
