Sonja K. Pieck is the Clark A. Griffith Professor of Environmental Studies and Department Chair at Bates College. Her research focuses on environmental governance, memory, and conservation in landscapes marked by historical trauma, such as the Green Belt in Germany. She holds a Ph.D. in Geography from Clark University (2006). Her work bridges ecological principles, historical memorialization, and community participation in conservation efforts.
