Sonia Roig Gomez

Sonia Roig Gomez serves as a Full Professor in the Department of Natural Systems and Resources at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), appointed since March 5, 2022. She has held continuous academic positions at UPM since July 27, 2010, and currently coordinates the Doctoral Program (since January 14, 2015).

Her research spans critical environmental disciplines including Soil Science, Nature Conservation, Agronomy, Ecology, Forestry, and Environmental Policy. With deep specialization in sustainable resource management, her work integrates ecological principles with landscape conservation strategies. The interdisciplinary nature of her research bridges agricultural sciences and environmental policy frameworks.

Roig Gomez actively contributes to biodiversity research through her membership in the R&D+i Center for Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Development (CBDS) since 2022, and the Ecology and Sustainable Forest Management research group since 2008. Her professional focus remains on advancing sustainable development models through academic leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration.
