Sonia Hassan, M.D., is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wayne State University's School of Medicine and serves as Associate Vice President and founder of the Office of Women’s Health. She leads the SOS MATERNITY Network, a state-funded initiative addressing Michigan's high maternal and infant mortality rates through standardized care protocols, prenatal access improvements, and research collaboration across 14 universities and healthcare systems.
Her research focuses on preterm birth prevention, preeclampsia management, and reducing racial disparities in maternal health outcomes.
