Sonia Barriuso Ortega

Sonia Barriuso Ortega serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Sciences at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Burgos, specializing in Nursing.

She obtained her doctorate from the University of Burgos in 2022 with the thesis "Sexual Education in Adolescence: Systematic Review of Programs and Meta-Analysis," supervised by Dr. María Fernández-Hawrylak and Dr. Davinia Heras Sevilla.

Her research focuses on Adolescent Health and Sexual Education methodologies, particularly through systematic reviews and meta-analyses of intervention programs. As an active member of the TFS (Therapy, Family and Health) research group, she investigates family-centered therapeutic approaches within adolescent health contexts, emphasizing evidence-based practice development.
