Song Liu is Professor of Polymer Science & Engineering at the University of Manitoba, directing the Biomaterials Synthesis and Surface Engineering Laboratory. His research develops novel surface engineering techniques and antimicrobial materials.
Key research areas:
- Biocidal surface functionalization
- Micro/nano-encapsulation technologies
- Smart polymeric materials for medical applications
Recipient of multiple teaching and research awards including the John Ogilvie Research Innovation Award. Current projects focus on antimicrobial nanofiber biosensors and pH-responsive drug delivery systems.
