Sona Dimidjian, Ph.D. is a Professor and Director of the Renée Crown Wellness Institute at the University of Colorado Boulder, Department of Psychology and Neuroscience. Her work bridges clinical psychology and neuroscience to advance mental health interventions for women, children, and families.
- Education: BA in Psychology (University of Chicago), PhD in Clinical Psychology (University of Washington, 2005).
Research Interests: Dr. Dimidjian focuses on cultivating mental wellness through scalable programs during critical developmental transitions like pregnancy, early childhood, and adolescence. Her work emphasizes digital health technologies and community partnerships to expand access to evidence-based interventions.
She is particularly known for her research on preventing maternal depression and promoting mindfulness, compassion, and healthy body image in youth and educators. Her projects integrate interdisciplinary approaches to sustainability of mental health programs.
