Somé Kogh Pascal is a Lecturer in Language Sciences/French Linguistics (section 7 CNU) at Paris Cité University since 2018, and a Certified Professor of Modern Literature since 2000. He serves as Co-director of the LANSAD department (Languages for Specialists in Other Disciplines) within UFR EILA from May 2023 to June 2024, and as Deputy Secretary General of the International POCLANDE Network (Populations, Cultures, Languages and Development) since 2022.
His research focuses on Appropriation of French in French-speaking sub-Saharan Africa, examining French language evolution across time and sociolinguistic areas, Linguistic and cultural diversity, Language policies, and integrating language systems in French teaching for first language, second language, and foreign language contexts. His work addresses the complex relationship between French as an official language and local African languages in educational and legal contexts.
His publications reveal consistent scholarly output in African French linguistics, with recent work analyzing French tense systems in Burkinabe novels, dialogism in African literature, and legal language in Burkina Faso. These works demonstrate his expertise in both theoretical linguistics and practical language policy applications.
