Solveig Nordmeyer

Solveig Nordmeyer is a distinguished cellist and educator affiliated with the Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna since September 2020. She studied cello at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz and the Mozarteum in Salzburg, later earning her degree with distinction at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Her career includes principal roles in the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra (2001–present) and Vienna Chamber Orchestra (1996–2000), alongside chamber music performances with ensembles like Ensemble Kontrapunkte and Ensemble Prisma.

Her teaching spans the Johann Sebastian Bach Music School in Vienna (since 2011), summer camps, and former faculty roles at the Korneuburg Music School (1997–2001). Nordmeyer specializes in cello pedagogy, chamber music, and orchestral training.

Research and pedagogical interests focus on advanced cello techniques, ensemble dynamics, and historical performance practices in classical and contemporary contexts. She has participated in masterclasses with renowned artists such as Yo-Yo Ma and David Geringas, enriching her expertise in music interpretation and performance education.
