Prof. Solke Munneke is a Professor of Constitutional Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Groningen. He holds editorial roles in journals like De Gemeentestem and Constitutional and Administrative Law Series. His expertise includes constitutional law, administrative law, and regulatory policy, with a focus on decentralization and governance structures.
Education: He studied Dutch Law at the University of Groningen, later working as an assistant and lecturer there before serving at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (2006–2015) as a senior lecturer. He earned his PhD in 2006 on 'Inlichtingenplichten en Verschoningsgronden in het Staatsrecht.'
Research interests emphasize constitutional frameworks, municipal autonomy, and regulatory challenges. His recent works explore governance trends like centralized decision-making and the 'return of the steering state.'
