معرفی
Soline Bourgeois is a senior scientist at the Institute of Physiology, University of Zurich, where she has been a core member of the Kidney and Acid-base Physiology Group under Prof. Carsten A. Wagner since 2013. Her work focuses on elucidating renal mechanisms critical for systemic acid-base balance.
Her academic foundation includes:
- PhD in Physiology from University Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris (2005), centered on discovering acid-base transporters in the kidney thick ascending limb
- Postdoctoral training at the University of Zurich's Institute of Physiology (2008) with Prof. Heini Murer and Prof. Carsten Wagner, specializing in renal defective mechanisms causing acid-base disturbances
Dr. Bourgeois' research expertise lies in renal physiology, particularly acid-base regulation through kidney transporters. She developed advanced ex vivo renal tubule microperfusion techniques during her doctoral work with Prof. Michel Paillard and Prof. Pascal Houillier at Centre de Recherche des Cordeliers in Paris. Her investigations address molecular pathways in acid-base disorders such as renal tubular acidosis, combining physiological experimentation with translational insights into kidney function. This work positions her at the forefront of understanding how renal tubules maintain systemic pH balance.
As a key contributor to the Kidney and Acid-base Physiology Group, she actively advances the team's mission through experimental innovation and collaborative science within the University of Zurich's research ecosystem.
