Sohrab Abizadeh is an Adjunct Research Professor in the Department of Economics at Carleton University, Canada, affiliated with the Faculty of Public and Global Affairs. He holds a B.Sc. from Shiraz University (formerly Pahlavi), an M.A. from the University of New Brunswick, and a Ph.D. from Oregon State University. Fluent in Persian and English, his research focuses on public finance, international trade, and economic growth, with expertise in government expenditure dynamics and trade liberalization's impact on productivity.
Abizadeh’s work spans over three decades, exploring topics such as fiscal policy in OECD nations, the socio-economic transitions of post-communist economies, and the application of Verdoorn’s Law to analyze trade and employment. His publications include contributions to Applied Financial Economics, Public Choice, and Canadian Journal of Development Studies.
