Soheil Shayegh

Soheil Shayegh is a Researcher at the CMCC Foundation, serving as Director of the Program on Integration of the planetary biogeochemical and industrial carbon cycle within the EIEE institute. His work bridges climate science and socio-economic systems through advanced modeling approaches.

He holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, forming the technical foundation for his interdisciplinary research.

Dr. Shayegh's research centers on dynamic modeling of climate-human system interactions, with specific focus on climate change impacts affecting fertility rates, migration patterns, food security vulnerabilities, labor force dynamics, gender inequality manifestations, and public health outcomes. His methodological innovations include developing analytical tools for optimal climate policy formulation under deep uncertainty regarding both climatic parameters and socioeconomic trajectories. This work spans environmental economics, socio-ecological systems theory, and computational policy analysis.

As Program Director, he leads integrated research on biogeochemical and industrial carbon cycles, coordinating cross-disciplinary teams to advance climate mitigation and adaptation strategies through systems-level analysis.
