Laurent Drouet is a senior scientist at the European Institute on Economics and the Environment (EIEE), part of the CMCC Foundation. His work bridges economics and environmental modeling, focusing on integrated assessment and optimization frameworks.

Dr. Drouet specializes in coupling heterogeneous models (e.g., economy, climate, energy systems) and has developed the open-source ETEM model for Luxembourg. He co-leads the WITCH model, integrating components like land-use, air pollution, and mitigation strategies.
His research addresses critical climate challenges, including carbon taxation, R&D's role in decarbonization, and institutional constraints on net-zero pathways. Key publications focus on green hydrogen resilience, fossil extraction bans, and multimodel analyses of optimal temperature targets.
He has held academic/research roles at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Public Research Center Tudor (Luxembourg), and Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM) before joining CMCC.
