Dr. Sohail Jannesari is a Research Fellow at King’s College London and a Senior Teaching Fellow at Imperial College London. His work focuses on migration and mental health, survivor advocacy, and decolonial research methods. He co-founded the Stolen Tools journal and the Migrant Connections Festival, and leads the Inspiring Ethics group. His research emphasizes participatory ethics, equitable knowledge production, and the mental health outcomes of refugees and survivors of human trafficking.
He teaches modules on qualitative methods, participatory approaches, and research ethics. As a consultant, he has addressed issues like violence-affected youth, maternal health, and torture survivor support. He hosts the Qualitative Open Mic podcast and has delivered keynotes on topics like poetry as resistance and sanctuary narratives.
Dr. Jannesari collaborates with networks such as the Health Inequalities Research Group and the Refugee Mental Health and Place Network. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health equity and social justice.
