Sofía Forchieri serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Languages, Literature and Communication at Utrecht University's Faculty of Humanities, teaching within the BA Literary Studies programme and courses including Introduction to Literature.

Research Focus: Her work critically examines intersections of memory, gender, and violence through decolonial feminisms and aesthetics, with specialized attention to contemporary Latin American cultural production. She investigates how affective politics manifest in women's writing and anti-gender movements while analyzing complicity frameworks within post-dictatorship societies.
Professional Engagement: Actively involved in the IOS research theme Gender, Diversity and Global Justice, she has conducted doctoral research at UCLA, Universidad de Alcalá (Spain), and Universidad de Buenos Aires (Argentina). Her expertise spans Cultural Memory, Gender and Sexuality, Latin America, Decoloniality, and Contemporary Literature studies.
