Sofiya Alhassan

Sofiya Alhassan (she/her) is an Associate Dean at the Office of Inclusion & Engagement, University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her research focuses on physical activity interventions, child health, and health equity, particularly among African-American and Latino populations.

Research Interests: Physical activity promotion in preschoolers, obesity prevention, culturally-tailored interventions, neurodivergent children's health, and health disparities in underserved communities. Her work integrates accelerometry, behavioral analysis, and community engagement.
