Sofia Wikman is a Professor of Criminology at the Department of Criminology, University of Gävle. Her research focuses on workplace violence prevention, societal issues such as youth mental health, crime victims, and the impact of migration on crime rates. She leads two FORTE-funded projects: one examining crime development in Sweden over 40 years, and another addressing workplace threats and violence prevention. Her work emphasizes organizational safety frameworks, networking among managers, and dismantling stigma around workplace violence reporting.
Key research interests include migration and crime correlations, violence in welfare sectors, and policy-driven solutions.
