She also holds the position of head of department for Social affairs at the Swedish Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Assessment of Social Services (SBU).
Her research interests focus on the intersection of dentistry and public health, with particular emphasis on Health Technology Assessment (HTA), dental health in vulnerable populations, and registry-based research methodology. Her work bridges clinical dentistry with social determinants of health, creating valuable insights for healthcare policy development.
As an academic supervisor, Dr. Tranaeus has guided doctoral research, including Tita Kirkinen's dissertation on dental health and dental care in children in out-of-home care. Her collaborative research involves multiple Swedish institutions and registries, demonstrating strong interdisciplinary connections across dental science, public health, and social services sectors.
Her work with the Swedish Quality Registry for caries and periodontal diseases (SKaPa) represents significant contributions to dental informatics and quality assessment in oral healthcare delivery.
